Idea # 1: Height
The general rule of thumb when it comes to hanging a chandelier is to get the height just right. Say you’re hanging a chandelier above a dining room table. You want to make sure the bottom of the chandelier light fixture is about 30 inches to 36 inches above the table, assuming you have an eight-foot high ceiling. If your ceiling is higher, raise the chandelier three inches higher for each additional foot of ceiling height.
